#Intel r wifi link 5100 agn p driver
Also it may be useful to know that I have Windows 7 64-bit dual booting with Linux Mint x86 but I did try the x86 driver (the 圆4 was a definite no-go as it said, "invalid driver.")įollowing are the requisite terminal outputs: But I have noted that the driver provided by Toshiba is a Realtec driver. It shows that the hardware is not present, and iwconfig won't show it. If it counts as useful information, I tried using the Windows driver with ndiswrapper as well with no luck. I tried the LiveCD and the wifi doesn't work with that, either - just a bunch of lines running down the screen during boot, saying "MAC is in deep sleep!" I tried everything from the MintWifi wiki, and I tried downloading and replacing the microcode (I kept the originals just in case.) I Googled, and I searched these forums.

Network manager does not show that the card is available. The wireless adapter is an Intel Wifi Link 5100 agn and I've tried everything I could find to get it to work. Has my network card become faulty, but how does it work if i have the WWAN activated for a good day?Īlso i only have McAfee security as well as registry mechanic.I have a Toshiba Satellite M305-S4910 notebook on which I have installed Linux Mint 8 Main. So frustrating, i have to either put the laptop in a low power state or restart AND switch the WWAN on first then it allows the WLAN to be activated SOMETIMES. When trying to switch the WLAN on it has no response obviously as the wireless network card is off indicated by no light. GlobalTrotter Module HSxPA - Network conntectionĪlso i have noticed if i switch the WWAN off the Green light at the front of the LAPTOP disapears even though it is on the ON postion and i HAVE NOT touched the WLAN.
